ELK
West TEXAS Elk
Contrary to popular belief, Elk are a native species to texas. These powerful animals now, again, call the Trans pecos region of texas home after being wiped off the landscape in the early 1900's. hunting them is nothing short of exhilarating during the fall months.
Most of these elk were relocated from Colorado, making them rocky mountain elk. from their blonde coats and their dark manes to their ivory tipped antlers, these animals make for one of the most underrated hunts the state has to offer.
Our elk hunts
our elk hunts take place on foot out and most of the time up close and personal. this is due to being able to hunt these elk during the peak of the rut, which is in late september-early october.
On a perennial elk hunt, expect to put in 2-6 miles on foot per day and several hours behind your glass. Shooting distances may largely vary, anywhere from 10 steps to 500 yards.
