Aoudad Sheep
TEXAS aoudad
Aoudad were brought to different parts of texas in the mid-1900's. The introduced parts are said to be Kerr county, brewster county, and palo duro canyon. these animals are sought after for their long blonde chaps, their weathered horns, and the challenge the big rams pose to hunters.
big, old rams tend to be solitary creatures, retiring to the rugged mountains, out of reach from all but the most dedicated hunters. It is in these extreme environments that we love to pursue them most.
About our aoudad Hunts
Our aoudad hunts take place on foot in either the beautiful Texas hill country or in the towering mountains of west texas. We do not hunt over feeders or from blinds. these hunts are as real as sheep hunting gets. we go where the sheep live and, most of the time, that’s not the easiest or most desired route.
expect to put in up to 10 miles per day on foot and/or 10 hours behind your glass. shot distances can largely vary, but being comfortable with a 500-600 yard shot will have you prepared.
